Realistic Dreams

Hi Everyone,

It has been a while but I am back. ☺

2018 has been a hectic year and I am hoping I have got this studying behind me so I can put more time into getting my story out and having more time for my coaching. Let’s all hope for the best as the results are coming out day by day and I am afraid to even look but anyway.

I have titled this blog “Realistic Dreams” as a lot of people feel either their dreams or dreams of others are not realistic. My question is, what is a realistic dream? Who is this dream realistic too?

I was driving with some one in my car and we were having a conversation about my soccer and where I would like it to go when they had the courage to ask me, Brice what is your realistic dream? I was shocked by the question because like what are you trying to say? My dreams and goals are not realistic they just something that I throw out there and I will never achieve?

Some people might say but sometimes you need to be honest and keep your dreams at a certain level so you don’t disappoint yourself. Probably right but what is wrong with having an Ultimate dream and have milestones to reach that specific dream? The problem is we sometimes feel something are not achievable, or some one tells us that “There is no way you are going to achieve that.” How many times do you think Ronaldo said that he will one day be the greatest player on the planet and people laughed at him and said he is CRAZY. Plenty people probably laughed at him but did he give up, you don’t need people to believe in you, all you need is YOURSELF.

We tend to allow people to tell us what we can achieve and what we can’t but those same people are not there when you putting in the extra hours and working to achieve this dream that you want. The sacrifices you make to achieve this Dream. The mistake I made in my life is I allowed people to tell me where my capabilities would take me and as a human, we tend to listen to the negative but the positive that is been said out ways the negative. All I remember from growing up is my own teammates telling me I am not as good as that person or that person is better than me and I allowed that to control me and my dreams because if I can’t be as good as that person then how many other people am I not good as? But there were so many people that believed I was better than that exact person but because one person felt I wasn’t good as that person I allowed that to control me instead of the positives. Always find a positive in a negative situation and focus on the positive because the negative is out to destroy you. I remember one specific person asked me What is my dream in High school and I responded to be one of the best players in South Africa or even the world. The guy responds how many other guys have that same dream as you and what makes you so special that you will get it over them? I didn’t understand the question in the context I do today I thought he was saying you will never get it. So I use those exact words in my journey. What am I doing different to the guy sitting next to me to achieve what I want?

A dream requires a passion and if you are passionate about something then why should you just stop at been average, if it is your journey in life then I can guarantee with hard work, determination and the right attitude it will be possible.

So the million dollar question is, “What is a realistic dream?”

A realistic dream is any dream that you feel you can attain. Don’t allow people to hinder your progress or keep you from reaching for the stars. A realistic dream is your dream so it can only be realistic to you.

Work hard and ensure that you keep pushing so you can get to that dream. Along the way people will have their comments but use their comments to elevate you to the dream, it will make the dream much sweeter when you reach the top and look down and say “Look Mama I Made it!”

A Dream Without A Vision Is Nothing!
